Nelson’s Column.
Landseer’s lions.
Dave’s ferrets…

These furry rascals have become a familiar sight in Trafalgar Square, where they’re treated to a short sortie in the grass outside the National Gallery, en route for St James’ Park.
Owner Dave makes the trek into London from his home in Greenwich most days.
“It gets me out of the flat,” he says. “I don’t always bring the ferrets, though. In the summer, I bring the snakes.”
“The snakes?”
“Yeah, I’ve got two boa constrictors.”
“And what do they eat?”
“Rabbits, mainly. Though they’d have the ferrets given half a chance.”
