Hi – welcome to my blog.
Wearing my travel writer’s hat, I’ve covered destinations in Russia, Latvia, Hungary, Syria, Jordan, Turkey, Ireland,Denmark and the UK. High points have included panning for gold in the Scottish wilds, interviewing the ”Yuri Gagarin of the feline world” in Moscow (that was what he told me, anyway), and being swept along by spontaneous outbreaks of samba in Brazil’s Cap Verde. Low points? Well, that would be telling, wouldn’t it?
So, what’s with Paris? It’s simply that the city got under my skin long before London did, and more years ago than I care to mention. Those were the days when the French knew their convictions were unassailably right, when waiters did surliness with style, and no one bothered about learning “Ouall Street” English. It was a great city then. It is still. Like London, it just gets better with knowing.
